NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Town Caucus for the Town of Greenfield for the purpose of nominating candidates to appear on the Spring Election Ballot for the following listed offices will be held at 1:30 p.m., January 11, 2025.

Offices and Incumbents:

Town Board Chairperson – Terry William Turnquist

Town Board Supervisor #1 – Fred Coller

Town Board Supervisor #2 – Dennis Brush

Town Treasurer – Robert Geenen

Town Clerk – Mary Friesen

 

TOWN CHAIR will call for nominations for a Caucus Chair, followed by a voice vote or show of hands.

 

  • Following are the procedures for the Caucus:

 

  • The Caucus is held in place of a February Primary for Town Officials to determine who will be listed on the April Election ballot. Only qualified electors – those citizens 18 years of age and older and residents of the Town of Greenfield for at least 28 days are eligible to nominate, vote and/or accept a nomination for office.

 

  • Electors MUST all sign in with name and address. If an elector is not on the November 2024 Poll List, proof of residence will be required to participate. The Clerk will oversee the Poll Book and residence verification.

 

  • No more than two candidates for each office will be chosen for the ballot. If more than two people are nominated for an office, an immediate vote by paper ballot will be held with each elector voting for only one person. If more than one name appears on the paper ballot, it will be discarded. If a tie occurs on the paper ballots a second ballot will be held as a tie breaker. Two volunteers for counting paper ballots will be called for in case paper ballots are needed.

 

  • After all candidates have been chosen for the April ballot, candidate names will be drawn to determine the order of appearance on the ballot.

 

  • Candidates chosen for the April ballot should come forward after adjournment to fill out documents required by the State of Wisconsin.

 

  • NOTE: Nominated candidates do not need to be present. They will be contacted by the Clerk to accept/decline and fill out needed paperwork.

 

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Spring Election will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Greenfield Town Hall.
